Traitements de l'obésité

Whether you are at risk of obesity, currently overweight or at a healthy weight, there are steps you can take to prevent unhealthy weight gain and related health problems. Not surprisingly, the steps you can take to prevent weight gain are the same as for weight loss: daily exercise, a healthy diet and a long-term commitment to watching what you eat and drink.

Prevention

  • Exercise regularly. You need 150-300 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity per week to avoid weight gain. Moderate-intensity physical activities include brisk walking and swimming.
  • Eat a healthy diet. Focus on low-calorie, nutrient-rich foods such as fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Avoid saturated fats and limit sweets and alcohol. Eat three regular meals a day and limit snacking. You can still eat small amounts of high-fat, high-calorie foods to indulge from time to time. Just make sure you choose foods that promote a healthy weight and good health most of the time.
  • Know and avoid food traps that cause you to eat. Identify situations that trigger uncontrolled eating. Keep a diary and record what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat, how you feel and how hungry you are. After a while, you should see patterns emerge. You can plan ahead and develop strategies to deal with these types of situations and stay in control of your eating behaviours.
  • Monitor your weight regularly. People who weigh themselves at least once a week are more successful in avoiding excess weight. Monitoring your weight allows you to know if your efforts are working and to detect small weight gains before they become big problems.
  • Be consistent. If you stick to your healthy weight plan as much as possible during the week, weekends, holidays and public holidays, you increase your chances of long-term success.

How to treat obesity

If you are overweight and have not been able to lose weight on your own, medical help is available. Start by consulting your GP, who may be able to refer you to a weight specialist in your area. Your doctor may also want to work with you as part of a team to help you lose weight. This team may include a dietician, therapist or other health professionals. Your doctor will help you make the necessary lifestyle changes. Sometimes they may also recommend medication or weight loss surgery. Learn more about obesity treatment.

There are 3 types of obesity treatment:

Drug treatments

Your doctor may also prescribe certain weight loss medications. Prescription weight loss drugs prevent the absorption of fat or suppress appetite in a chemical way and like all drugs they have harmful side effects.

Surgery

Weight loss surgery is commonly known as bariatric surgery. This type of surgery works by limiting the amount of food you can comfortably eat. Weight loss surgery is not a quick fix. It is a major operation that can carry serious risks. Afterwards, people who undergo surgery will have to change the way they eat and the amount they eat, or they may become ill.

The types of weight loss surgery are as follows:

  • Gastric bypass surgery. In this procedure, your surgeon creates a small pouch at the top of your stomach that connects directly to your small intestine. Food and fluid pass through the pouch and into the intestine, bypassing most of the stomach. This procedure is also known as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB).
  • Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band (LAGB). LAGB separates your stomach into two pouches using a band.
  • Sleeve gastrectomy. This procedure involves removing part of your stomach.
  • Biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal exchange. This procedure involves removing most of your stomach.

Natural treatments

This is by far the best solution, but you have to be careful how you apply it. All my methods consisting of having meals delivered (which is extremely expensive every month), exercising excessively, attending meetings etc. are doomed to failure because they make patients dependent on the commercial policy of these organisations and therefore without any control over their own obesity, habits, family or professional context etc. The result? As soon as it is no longer possible to spend a fortune on ready-made meals (with dubious nutritional values), or when the knee joints cry “pity” in these gyms, the kilos come back very quickly and very often beyond the starting weight.

The 10 reasons for the success of this method:

  1. This method is proven because it was developed by a former obese man who has the hindsight and legitimacy because he was himself a victim of obesity.
  2. This method is 100% natural, without any medication or surgery.
  3. My Secret Pound has been validated by the medical profession (Dr. Suthep Keeratijareonwong , M.D. Physician Dept. Heart Center / Specialty Internal Medicine & Intervention Cardiology / B.P.H., cardiologist and nutritionist, validates all the positive effects of this method).
  4. It is a method where the obese person is an actor, not a spectator.
  5. This weight loss will also lead to a natural reduction in stomach capacity, and therefore an appetite that is satisfied more quickly.
  6. A reduction in stress, an increase in functional capacities (internal and external), to regain strength, health, stamina, confidence, willpower, joy, self-image, etc.
  7. This method does not require any physical effort, no special exercises, and its application takes only a few minutes per day.
  8. There is no “yo-yo” effect because the method gives the user the keys to controlling his or her weight. Therefore, in case of weight regain, the user knows what actions to take to restart the weight loss curve.
  9. This method is undeniably easy to use and above all sustainable.
  10. Free online tools accompany you throughout the weight loss process to help you monitor your progress, choose your diet, communicate, exchange opinions and advice with groups of people who, like you, are committed to losing weight.
